Here is a curated list of marches, demonstrations, and other events that readers might like to join. Most are climate-related in some way. Some may be overtly political, but none are partizan. The list is not exhaustive but it is as comprehensive as I can make it. It is in loosely chronological order, with events coming up soon at the top. Note that most items include a link to the organizers’ site so you can learn more.
April 14, 2018, Science March A repeat of last year’s Science March in Washington DC. There are satellite marches planned, but perhaps not as many as last year. There are also satellite science marches planned for April 22 in some communities.
April 15, 2018, #RepealtheTrumpTax A repeat of last year’s Tax March in Washington DC. It is unclear whether there are satellite marches planned.
April 20, 2018, National High School Walk-Out A protest by high school students against gun violence. The plan is for all participating students across the United States to wear orange and to walk out of class. The listed time is 10 AM, though it is unclear of all student groups are using the same schedule. Coordinated online and community protests are encouraged.
April 28, 2018, Our Power: Stand Against Racism Rally for Racial Justice A rally in support of the civil rights of women and girls of color. Space is limited. RSVP is you plan to attend.
May 10, 2018, #STAND! For a Day of Action A demonstration in Washington DC against police violence. The march is led by mothers of victims of police violence, but allies are welcome. No satellite events are listed.
July 21, 2018, Zero Hour A youth-led climate march for Washington DC. It’s not clear yet whether there will be satellite marches in other places. Presumably adults are welcome to march also.
September 8, 2018, National Day of Action An event organized by The People’s Climate Movement, but no further information is available yet. I’ll keep you posted.
